There are pros and cons to this arrangement. Basically, I can be as loud as I want during the week’s permitted hours since the people above me will be as loud as they want Friday and Saturday nights. I’m really ok with this exchange since I sing in my room all week long and they drunkenly sing and stomp on the weekends. Works for me! They will have to be careful about chanting “chug, chug, chug” though since the RAs will be less impressed with that aspect of their party. They’ve even got a good mix of music up there and their drunken singing is certainly entertaining. While I am a morning person these days I can easily adjust to going to bed later (2:50-4ish am) on these occasions since that lets me get some more gaming in. Since school started I’ve been really good at budgeting school time and gym/sports time but I need to work in some more ‘me’ time so I can continue to be a happy productive individual :)
To that end I’m thrilled that my internet has been working consistently and I went to pick up a cheap hub the other day so now I can keep my 360 online too. w00t. I’m kind of annoyed at Microsoft right now though. I picked up Forza 2 and the wireless wheel a while back and then I heard about the retrofit. I sent in my form weeks ago now and I haven’t heard a peep from them since. Boo. However, since my 360 is online I was finally able to download the backwards compatibility patch for Jet Set Radio Future (my sole original xbox game) and it rocks. Fantastic soundtrack to boot. In other good news the NHL season has finally started and the opener in London, England is almost over now. Man, that Bernier kid (Kings goalie) is something else. 19 years old in his NHL debut overseas against the defending cup champs (Ducks) and he nearly gets a shut out.

Whew. That was the week that was and I think I made it through pretty well. Cogeco assures me yet again that this time my internet will work more than 20 minutes a week. I seriously hope that they are right since it’s really been pissing me off. Last time I was online I was ranting about the ‘joy’ of my computer science courses but I think I’ve reached a point of zen regarding that issue. Next week’s classes might blow that out of the water but the plan is to find someone in the class who could probably use a hand and teach them. This will keep me focused on the lesson and maybe make me better as a result. I’m also going to stop bringing my tablet to those classes because the temptation to let my brain bugger off to random corners of the internet (however appropriate for my Introduction to the Internet class that may be) and chat for those hours on MSN is just too strong. Also, I’m probably annoying the crap outta my online friends during those specific hours and they deserve a break.
On the sports side of things I may have found a way out of basketball. For those that e-mailed me protesting how it’s a fun sport and I’m a freak of nature for not enjoying it please keep in mind that I’m five foot four and a half. In hockey I can at least compete because, well, I’m good at it. Or at least I was. It’s been a while now so I fully expect to suck for the first few games while I find my legs, head and hands again. Likely in that order, too. Anyway, the hockey draft was on Thursday night and it was as big of a mess as the first Floor Rep meeting that I’ll get to later when I’m less angry about that whole thing. My brother taught me something that night that really does apply to most activities here in Windsor. Never follow the rules.
