Remember the days when games came on cartridges and you got, maybe, if you were really saved up your allowance and Santa liked you, a couple of new ones a year? I’m not saying I miss those days of scattered releases, a lot of crap, and $120+ SNES carts, but it sure made picking what to play nice and easy! My gaming backlog for even one of the dozen platforms right now would make eight year old me’s brain a-splode.
There are two Wii games you guys should have your eyes on this and next month:
Rhythm Heaven Fever is something you should own if you like music and fun and happiness and love and throwing your controller across the room when you blow a Perfect round. I’ve loved the Rhythm Tengoku|Heaven series since the GBA, and I feel that this is their best effort in English since the voices are solid and the translation works. Check out some videos and Remixes (think of it like a musical boss stage, combining all you’ve learned thus far) on YouTube and see if it’s for you. There are NO motion controls or nunchuks to worry about, either, as it’s all handled by two wiimote buttons.
There’s going to be an OpenAlpha on this series for sure ^_^
Xenoblade Chronicles. If you like JRPGs — or even if you did only a little bit in the past but don’t so much anymore because they turned into grindy bores — you should get this game. It is very annoying how Canadians have to get it from EB/Gamestop and how Nintendo basically set up this North American release to fail as a result (but at least Americans can order from Nintendo directly), so consider this your heads up about the title because people are probably going to sell them for twice the price on eBay later.
As for PS3, there’s Journey. I don’t own it yet, but I will soon. It’s just been hard to locate a PSN card that isn’t a $50 one and I’m not giving Sony my credit card number ever again. I didn’t much want to mention that I haven’t played it yet because I’ve avoided any and all possible spoilers for the ‘experience’ and I will murder you and feed you to your pets if you post any here. Fair warning ;)
And there’s some PC stuff that I think you’ll all like, but I’m not supposed to talk about them yet, so this is a very pointless sentence.
Then there’s Draw Something. I’ll probably break down and download it by the end of the week since that’s what everyone else is doing!
How about you? What are you guys playing right now/in the near future?

Are PSN codes region locked as well? Best Buy online is probably the easiest if not.
As for playing there is so much. Tribes Beta, Super Monday Night Combat Beta, 360 friends all want to play Reach, Trying to go through all the Twisted Metal games but I can’t find my copies of 3-5. DMC collection in April. Kickstarters everywhere. Maybe I should just take 10 Benadryl and stare at the Winamp AVS all evening. It would lead to about the same brain frying experience.
