So yesterday, during lunch, I managed to burn my pointer finger — right hand, so not a critical failure for my day-to-day tasks — and it really hurt. Really, really, really, really hurt. Blistered right away and, of course, could not get any cold water on it from the taps. Why both taps from both sinks were hot, I’ve no idea. But when I find the genius responsible, there will be repercussions. The sole substitute involved buying a somewhat cool can of coke to hold.
Eventually I got some polysporin, bandage, and ice for it and that got me through the day. This morning it’s still super tender and typing with a finger that hits three keys at once is an exercise in patience, to say the least ;)
What did I burn myself on? Boiling cheese. Yes, boiling cheese from mac and cheese. I got burned through a glove and paper towels, so I’m grateful that this is not nearly as bad as it could have been!

Damn, through a glove and paper towels!
I usually get burned on the roof of my mouth with pizza cheese, and I never learn. :(
Mac n cheese is dangerous stuff!!
Aloe works really well for burns, either the bottled product or the plant itself (cut a piece of and squeeze the goo out, kinda gross but it works).
Ouch, get well soon!
(Just to introduce myself, I found your blog via Flash of Steel!)
