Week’s Wrap Up

As you probably knew already, Darren spent the week here as part of his last trip to Toronto for a while (bigger commute from the West Coast versus Virginia!!) and all was awesome. I also finally got him to try skating. How could he have made all these trips here without hitting the ice? That was a massive fail on my part that I have since rectified.

This was a mutually beneficial trip. He got to cement his Honourary Canadian status — this is not something I hand out all willy-nilly. He had to work for it over the years — and I got to learn lighting that does not suck. Oh, lighting. One of the previous banes of my existence. Stupid lighting. Now it’s less stupid! Hooray. You can actually see a bit of it in his video blogs and the latest Hak5. He got to see how my brother and I managed to break Borderlands. Ooh, I’m so upset at that one. I have no idea how to fix it and my two and his one ~50ish characters are now completely boned in terms of progression. Boooooooooo. And we watched a lot of Top Gear. How did I make it so far in my life without seeing this? Love it. Love Oliver! <3

Now that he's off exploring downtown, I'm continuing my moving process. I've got all the video game stuff here, of course, but there's still one more tv, uh, 90% of my clothes, my futon (I have a real bed now and I'm really debating switching back. <3 futons), and all my cooking accoutrements. I've been living off of cereal and mooching off my parents. This is not terribly different from the last few months since it let me save up to get close to a new 360, but it's really embarrassing and has to stop. I'll be dipping into my funds to replace my heats-up-but-slowly-and-unevenly griddle and maybe a slow cooker. I hear they are pretty idiot proof and that's right up my alley.

Gaming: Halo Reach is fun even though I suck. I’m still waaaaaaaaay too into Pokémon. Who wants to trade some with me? Please? Record of Agarest War is kinda crappier than I expected but this requires a video to get it all across. I have a billion indie games to play and this excites me. Batman: Arkham Asylum has the longest intro next to Half-Life 2. And I have to restart. I’m not happy about this.
