I have one. I also have an ugly picture of it next to my ice blue DS Lite.
There’s a lot to say about the XL but, for tonight, let’s talk about colour. What the hell, Nintendo? I didn’t even want to buy one with those hideous brick tones you released them in. I ended up with the burgundy one since it seemed less gross. The texture isn’t bad but I know I will skin this sucker as soon as possible. Might even go for a case mod down the line. A random sticker set may have looked better on the bronze version but, well, I had to go with my gut here. And no store I went to had any XLs out of the box so I could actually see what the finish looked like. Weak.
By the by, I still do want to get Grill-off with Ultra Hand but I have to get my Wii online first. At least registering my new DS got me 160 coins so I’m now sitting at 640 and hit the Club Nintendo Gold status I previously desired. Hitting platinum is still unlikely. Ever.

I still have to get one in my hands, before I decide if it fits better than the DS lite I already have.
Burgundy’s not so bad, so I won’t mind getting rid of my black, fingerprint magnet.
Maybe they’ll release some better colors soon.
Absolutely get yours hands on it first. I had to pick it up sight unseen and was surprised at the texture and the weight. You’ll probably have to (politely) accost some kid or friend with one or call various stores to see if they have one out. I’ll have a video blog about mine out this weekend.
