Made in MA

by Jenn on Friday, March 26, 2010

Whew. I landed pretty early yesterday and it’s been pretty much a whirlwind. To all the people I was hanging out with, please forgive the present lack of linkage and namedropping and I will make up for it later!

After various entertaining lunches and dinners — let it be said that the area around the convention centre has fabulous and semi-affordable food — I was off to the Made in MA party to meet even more cool and awesome people. Did you know that the MA area gaming companies do 2 billion-with-a-B dollars worth of business a year? I didn’t. Outside of Harmonix I didn’t realize this area had become quite a hub. One of the speakers stressed that there’s a lot of hiring going on here right now so get your resumes in! This was also one of the few times I’d been to a party in a regular office-type building and it stretched multiple floors. Let me tell you, finding people there without cell phones was impossible. “Can’t you see me? I’m wearing an orange shirt!” How nice, on what floor?? Good times. I really should have gotten in line for Rock Band. I’m not as uber as I once was, especially not on drums, but I can rock on better than easy ;)

sidenote to Rock Band peeps: MOAR THE GUESS WHO. Seriously. That’s a song pack I’d buy in a heart beat. One kindly gentleman promised to pass that request along but I will not hold my breath.

By the way, these cupcakes were delicious. I only had one, honest, but they were on every flat surface on every floor and I wish I could have walked out with a plate of them. Or just take the baker home with me. I’m sure they’d like Canada very much.

sooooo good

The doors open at 2pm today and I can’t wait for my first glimpse of the masses. I likely won’t survive the crush to get into the keynote so I’ll use the opportunity to explore instead!
