If you have no idea what I am talking about go here and watch the movie. This is one of those games that would suck up my whole life and make me wonder why I’ve ignored my PSP for so long. Right now Half Minute Hero still owns my PSP and my soul. I was out at the theatre tonight and played more during intermission. Let the people stare! I sadly had more fun during that intermission than most of the show but never you mind that. I’ve played for almost 4 hours now and I’m still at 60% of the Hero campaign! There are 3 whole new full campaigns for me to go through still! This is a good thing :)
However, I bear bad tidings. I got my NIS/Rosenqueen e-mail upon my arrival at home today and this was the report:
Thank you very much for your participation and your support. Unfortunately, due to not meeting our demand of 1,000 units of Preorder, we will not be able to create the UMD version for “Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!? What Did I Do to Deserve This??”. We truly understand your disappointment in not having this item. In the future, we are considering to have the Badman 2 release on UMD. We truly would appreciate your patience and your understanding. Again, we truly apologize for the many inconveniences to all of our valuable fans. Thank you for your continuous support.
GRRR. I’m prissy as hell when it comes to digital downloads. For some reason I can deal with it on PC but I trust Sony about as far as I can heave my bulky launch PS3. So that’s pretty far but I draw the line at digital releases. Even if I was completely in love with the PSP model over the DS (and I’m not) I’d still think the PSP Go is one of the most ridiculous contraptions foisted on consumers since the original PSP. I’m no fan of the DSi, either, but at least you can still play your existing games on it. This time I’m not giving them the benefit of the doubt here. There’s no rhyme nor reason to me being able to get past my mistrust and use Steam while ignoring the Live Arcade and PSN, I can certainly admit that, but I like physically owning what I pay for. The argument has been said time and time again but I’d prefer to not have to pirate what I actually own when the selling company decides they were only ‘renting’ it to us and *poof* no game for you. That whole 1984 Kindle episode didn’t help allay my fears. I’m not paranoid! Shhh, what was that?!? THEY’RE ON TO ME. gtg. *static*

Note. The following post is pure opinion:
I find nothing irrational about trusting Steam. Valve has proven time and again that they are willing to make Digital Distribution for customers as painless as possible. Problems have seemed to come up involving games from other companies, but overall it works most of the time. From license transfers to the PS3 movie store hubbub. Microsoft and Sony have shown nothing but a Megacorp mentality. As much as I don’t like it, I try to keep my console online purchases monetarily small and infrequent. Then when they’re gone (and the will be gone in my lifetime) I can wrap myself in a blanket of foreknowledge. Some companies get it.

others, like the EAstore, do not.
Which is why On-Live while it looks very interesting will only be one of the ways to play games in the future. If every publisher attempts to move in that direction there will be a backlash.
