Oh, cruel time!

WHERE HAVE MY FAKE PLASTIC INSTRUMENT SKILLS GONE? Reward if found.

yay Lego

I was playing Lego Rock Band on the weekend, after not playing any type of guitar game since Rock Band: The First, and I wasn’t great. Not terrible, thankfully, but far from great. I was struggling on hard in some cases! Oh, the agony. I really enjoyed Lego Rock Band though. It was a little too cute in some places but, hey, Ghostbusters theme! I was guaranteed to play it on the basis of that alone. I can be shallow, too. And I still want a real Lego Ghostbusters. Don’t you? :)

I’ll probably rent LRB on my own at some point but I realized today that I need a new guitar or two. And drums. But I’m pretty sure the mic still works. If I can find it. The drums took quite the consistent pounding back in residence, I never really liked the RB guitar, and my GH guitar has a very uncooperative yellow button. I was testing out some RB Expert songs as a break not thirty minutes ago and it took me two tracks before I figured out what was messing up my streaks so consistently. The catch is that I’m extremely wary of buying a used instrument that’s likely worse than mine are right now and I’m not sure I want to drop the cash on a whole new set. There’s no Lego Rock Band set with instruments. The Beatles pack seems really expensive. RB2 pack seems to have come down in price a lot. HMMMM. But I also want Borderlands and Arkham Asylum and maybe Assassin’s Creed 2. Sometimes I hate this season! Too many games, not nearly enough time, and don’t get me started on the funds :(

My fav guitar is the white Gibson X-plorer from Guitar Hero 2. If you can find one new in the store, it should be cheap, maybe?

All other guitars I have, or tried I didn’t like the responsiveness of the strumbar or buttons compared to the X-plorer.

I bought Lego Rock Band, and enjoy it so far. Haven’t gotten to the kick ass songs yet (other than Summer of 69). I really dig the personality of this game, and all the stuff you can buy with your hard-earned lego studs :o)

What, no Lego controllers? Man, I figured that would be half the fun. I’d love a guitar that has actual studs on it. Imagine the customization possibilities!

I’d be weary about used instruments too, unless they have a damn good return policy AND let you test ‘em out in the store.

I feel ya on the funds. I haven’t tried ‘em but supposedly gameaccess.ca is like gamefly in Canada.

Haha. that would be cool. A small little guitar body with studs, and you could build it out to whatever you wanted.

And then go Pete Townshend on it, and build it back up!!

Jedi_Kez: Hmm. I’ve never used that one, not even at a friend’s place. Not sure I’ve even seen one in person. I’ll keep an eye out. I have whatever guitar came with the first 360 GH, the black Les Paul. My fingers seemed to get lost on the RB controller sometimes and I never used the lower frets.

As for Mr. Kitchen and Atari6502, I know! I wanted a wicked Lego Drumset most of all. Little studs around the rims or something. So many design possibilities!! DK, you and I should get on that, eh? :)
