Tuwedursday sucked

October 15th, 2009 · 2 Comments · gaming, kitchen sink

I’m less angry today and crashed for some decent sleep, despite the odd hours of it. Those on twitter know that I am exceptionally bitter at having spent 16-odd hours in a hospital emergency room with my great aunt who had potentially suffered a stroke. She’s ok now, thankfully, but it was an agonizing night from our end and she wasn’t too damn thrilled about it either. My bitterness is directed at the hospital and, by extension, the government since I had never seen the hospital bed shortage in action like this before. It blows. 911, on the other hand, was awesome. Mad props to them and the critical job that they do all day every day. It’s not that the doctors and nurses were bad, far from it, just that there was so little they could do since my aunt was pretty stable and they just didn’t have anywhere to put her. Gah.

So that’s where I’ve been the last little while. Tuesday bled into Wednesday and further into Thursday (which I’m pretty sure is today) and I can’t really tell you what happened on what day this week since my brain is shot. Tuwedursday sucked will be all I’ll recall as time goes by. I think I played some more Lego Batman in there, too. On the last 9% of minikits. I also left my 360 when I took off in a hurry so apologies to all the people that sent messages and invites while I was out.

League of Legends

Tonight I’ll also be sending out all the invites that people requested through e-mail and comments! Woo!! If you don’t see what you asked for in your mailbox by Friday at 9am (EST) then drop me another line and we’ll get that fixed right up! I might have some Brizzly invites left over and @RiotPendragon, Director of Community Relations for Riot Games with a very awesome name, might be hooking me up with more League of Legends invites to give away. Not that I’m using it to build my own awesome team of awesomeness MWA HA HA *cough*. Seriously, I’m not great at this, I just have fun and it’d be great to play some non-pressure with you guys. I don’t play a lot of online games, as people on Live and PS3 frequently lament to me. Ghostbusters was a rare exception since I heart <3 and it's all teamwork, minus slime dunk. I want to make an effort to 'hang out' more and broaden my horizons ^_^

I'm saving my gaming rants for next week since I'm not in a state of mind to do copyediting or anything remotely strenuous today. To that end, Lego Batman ahoy! Likely some Wii Ghostbusters this evening when I pull myself together enough for the arduous task of doing laundry ;)

Demon's Souls

Just asking: Demon’s Souls (wiki). Who has played it? Who is thinking about playing it? I’m kinda tempted since I generally enjoy stuff from Atlus and FromSoftware. I was initially turned off by the online aspects of it but now I think it’s worth a rental, minimum. I have a huge backlog as it is right now but, as with most online games, unless you jump in while it’s new and fresh you might end up playing in a totally empty space.

Thinking about Demon’s Souls. Although the 1up review makes me call into question the fun-factor of the multiplayer.

Thinking about Borderlands as well also for the co-op features. The options are enough to drown in.
Glad your aunt is o.k. The only thing worse then getting the call and hearing “in the hospital” is having to be one of people getting family to the hospital. Helpful thoughts in your direction.

I imported Demon’s Souls a few days ago. It’s an amazing game but very hardcore. Giant Bomb described it as ‘sadistic’.
