Ghostbusting on the Wii

It’s different, it’s fun, and I can’t believe that I forgot I owned it! I recently got my Wii back from my mom — she got her own and I finally went and hooked it up for her so I could take mine home once more — and I was looking for a random game just to make sure everything was peachy keen. Lo and behold, Wii Ghostbusters! I’ve only played for about an hour and a half so far and I enjoy it. Though I certainly need to employ something less than a deathgrip on the wiimote since my wrist was getting sore near the end. The playtime includes all the cutscenes, and I had forgotten how many there were, and I’m 27% through the game. I’ve been ignoring PKE scans and art collectibles which means I am farther along, plot-wise, than it would appear. There was even a Canadian flag shown when Stay-Puft was hammering a building. I’ll have to go back and get a picture of that later, for sure.

I think lightening up on the deathgrip will help me a lot with turning slowly as opposed to whipping around in 360s everytime I want to look a little to the left. I’ve been told I’m a freak when it comes to wiimote handling since I keep the wiimote in my left and nunchuck in my right. I do this for all games except when they make me switch. I hate that. EA Sports Active (which I tested out for my mom. It’s ok.), Raving Rabbids, and Wii Sports/Resort, I’m looking at you here. At least those aren’t fine motor control games, they just want me to shake or steer with the controllers in the opposite configuration from what I prefer.

Ok, I’ll have to talk more about this later. Battle of the Blades is on and I can’t help but watch. Retired NHLers paired with real champion figure skaters competing live for charity. They even put ice back in Maple Leaf Gardens for the occasion. What’s not to like? “This program is not endorsed or affiliated with the National Hockey League”. So great. Seeing them all trip over the toepicks is hilarious. I’ve never even tried on a pair of my figure skates in my life so I shouldn’t laugh too hard since I’d likely end up on my face, too! Still funny. Can’t wait to see how this goes. I also <3 RonMaclean (especially when he ditches Cherry) and seeing him skate next to Kurt Browning is also pretty great.
