Dear Toronto: My Bad! This epic storm is all my fault. I was out running errands, see, and it turned out that it was waaay cheaper to get new rollerblades rather than buy new wheels and bearings for my old ones that I don’t like very much. It was $120 for the RBK 3k or $170 for the wheels I liked and kick ass bearings. Since these are a hockey boot as opposed to being built for distance I am giving up a little in terms of weight and more in terms of wheel size. That trade suits me just fine since now I can play a little pick up roller hockey without worrying about breaking bones in my foot if I take a stick or puck/ball off them.

I had just left a late lunch/early dinner on a nice sunny day and as I crossed from Mississauga to Etobioke it was like entering another world. The rain came down in sheets. Horizontally. This caused a flash flood and I was worried my car was going to die when I was boating down the streets since any dip in the road was now a small lake. There is still something extremely satisfying about plowing through those suckers and watch the water cascade around and over the car. You feel like a boat cutting a path. This is fine in water. Attempting the same thing through snow is not recommended as it typically ends in disaster. We do still call it ‘snowplowing the water’ in my family though :)
Anyway, driving was chaos as any road with people still driving had dropped the speed from 60-70km/h down to 10-20km/h. I abandoned the clogged main roads for the sidestreets I loved so much. This was both a good and poor decision. Good because I know those roads inside out and there was no other traffic to worry about. Bad because these roads collected water like it was their job. Had I been forced to stop and open the door, water would have rushed into my car.
Mother Nature casts Thundaga, Toronto goes “wtf, eh?”

So, yeah. About 30 minutes ago I took this rainbow picture but suddenly the sky went black and filled with lightning again. Now it’s just black but I can’t hear any rumbling, just endless sirens.

I didn’t even know Toronto had one of these until an hour ago.

Hear in The Netherlands is still warm, their whas suppose to be rain and storm here too. But to bad it isnt and i am sweating my ass off, wich is not strange in a small room with a AMD PC, Flatscreen and PS3 on :(
I wish it whas winter again…
