Every once in a while I do look at my blog stats and I noticed a rather interesting trend. I’m a both surprised and not-exactly-stunned but I can take a hint. Back when I was known to the internet solely as LadyGuardian I’d write about gaming, theatre, hockey, school, and random stories like participating in 24-hour playwriting contests and the like. Pretty much in that order, too. Good times. It was a stunningly popular site for some unknown who never posted pictures or used her real name. Then, in the first 3 words in her first vidcast* she completely forgot herself, used her real name in the first 4 words, and ended up on television. I should have thought of that years ago!! ;)
Back then the theatre posts were just as popular as the gaming content even though I focused on The Second City, Improv, and my own theatre gigs exclusively. Oh, how the tides have turned. I do tend to ramble on about theatre in a way that certainly comes across better in video than in massive blocks of text but people are certainly uninterested in it here. And that’s ok!! I’m not going to stop talking about it or enjoy it any less, I just thought it was a little funny. Ok, and that I might just keep them in private posts for my own amusement :)
To get back to gaming, I did pick up a PSP 2000 (no cheap 3000s yet and I just wanted something that I could use component cables for so I no longer have to hold it up to the camera to capture footage) for next to nothing and I’ve been horsing around with it. It came with the 5.50 firmware so I’ve only been able to use it for legit stuff while my PSP 1000, still on 1.5, does everything else. I’ve been on a grid-battle kick lately so I picked up Jeanne D’Arc and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions for under $20. I had to shop around as they appear to be scarce around here but I am glad I did. Heck, I even picked up Cross Edge (PS3) with some leftover gift certificate money. Oh, and Tactics is, again, going to ruin my life in the same vein as World of Warcraft. I quickly fire all the starter people and create my friends, down to their Zodiac signs, and give them the jobs that best suit their personalities. I do this without regard to creating a balanced or effective party. I’ve been through the game enough times on the original PlayStation that one could think of this as ‘challenge mode’. If one was so inclined, of course.

I love the art style in the new cutscenes and no complaint about the voice actors (yet?) but I do have some questions about the new translation. When did rend helmet/magick/etc. turn into rent?
*please don’t actually rewatch it. I will have to shortly as I prep for the new & theoretically improved OA. I have to take stock of everything I learned over the years and that requires going back and seeing how I’ve changed and what to keep and what to lose, format-wise. Yikes. I’m worried I was better back then than I can be now!!

:o Keep talking about theatre if you want. It’s your blog, do what you want about it. (Or create a theatre.jenncutter.com that people can go to to look at your theatre reviews. Just be sure to make the rating system something like “3 crying /happy faces”)
Incidently I can’t remember if you mentioned it or not, but you have to see noises off live. It’s funny as hell. (I’ve been told the Drowsy Chaperone is good too.)
