My dad loves golfing. When he eventually retires all he’s going to do is golf, ride his motorcycle, update that blog he’s always threatening to start, and probably have a dozen dogs. Mostly the golf thing. I often accompany him on trips to the various golf stores about town because I do know a lot about the game for someone who only figured out which way she shoots last year!! I wound up shooting right instead of left, go figure. I will confess that most of my golf knowledge came from writing in the room when my father would sit and watch endless golf on weekends. Oh, and video games. I started with the PC Links game, then some random SNES golf games that I received as gifts from well meaning relatives, then Tiger Woods on later consoles. Sim golf is fine and all but I vastly prefer the fun stuff like Pangya/Super Swing Golf. Though, somehow, I never became a fan of Mario Golf. Wandering around the golf store is fun for me since I enjoy checking out all the ridiculous gimmicks that people peddle to desperate golfers. Want to get better? Take lessons and/or focus on deliberate practice. No foam thingy or grip or club is going to magically make you into a PGA qualifying player.
On my most recent trip to Golf Town, this is what I discovered:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. As a die-hard fan and walking talking encyclopaedia for all things Muppet and Sesame Street related I found this a horrifying sight! They look so, so… dead. I think it’s the ‘impaled on stakes’ look that was bothering me since I could deal with them hanging on the rack. Big Bird has this look of utter shock that’s also disturbing. The truth of the matter is that I would probably own all of these if I played golf, even covering my irons as well as the woods just so I could show them off in a very crowded mess. DON’T JUDGE ME.

And now I’m thinking I should have looked at them more carefully to see if I could work on them and turn them into actual rod puppets (even though Cookie Monster & Oscar are supposed to be live-hand, I know)…

Hehehe lol, weird to see them in this way.
Talking about golf games, Mario Golf on the GameCube whas a lotta fun for me.
Jenn, Amber talked about “The Guild – Do You Wanna Date My Avatar” video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urNyg1ftMIU

I don’t think my brother played the Cube one… I didn’t get one until very late in the system’s life-cycle. If I find it I’ll pick it up and lend it to him!
Paul, I think everyone on the internet has talked about that fantastic video by now :)
