It’s dead, Jim.

My PC tower died. I’ve had it since I started OpenAlpha. I never upgraded it except with a borrowed video card a few months ago and, sadly, neglected its good health until it finally kicked the bucket today. A moment of silence, please, if you would be so kind…

This supremely borks my usual editing and encoding options so I will be searching for a solution on the weekend. I beg for your patience!

Yes, I am well aware that the video stutters like heck. I assure you that this is more frustrating for me than anyone else!! At least the sound was coherent :(

1 minut of silence for the fallen PC, may he/she rest in peace.

Awww, sorry to hear about your loss. It always sucks to have a computer crap out on you. Last time my computer died the power supply exploded while my head was right next to it (then, the next day the same thing happened while fixing a friends computer!)…

COMPUTER UPGRADES! WOOO!

Only 6 videos to go! :O

Yes, am sorry to hear that also. I build computers off and on for people and had built a nice gaming computer for this kid. The power supply went on it and took the motherboard along with it. Antec and Asus warrantied both and sent out new replacements. Asus worked on the board quite awhile trying to repair it but to no avail….

On another note, back in 2001 we bought a Dell Dimension 8200 for my Mother, she used it all the time, then when she passed away my Dad took it over and was used all the time by him. After he went into a retirement home I hooked it in too our weather station and it uploads data to http://www.wunderground.com. The computer has been on 24/7 and will be 8 years old next month. And not one thing has been done too it, not even a reinstall…

You have to look on the bright side. Now when you get a new computer it will be faster and that means we get your videos faster. I have a Q9550@2.83GHz compared to my old one, a prescott something 3.2GHz single core. I hear good stuff about the Corei7 and since you do so much video look into that.
