I Love Egon

July 3rd, 2009 · 5 Comments · video

Seriously, he is one of four guys I’d propose to out of the blue whether or not they are already married. This is the (hopefully!) more interesting second installment of my experiment. Is it sad that two videos two days in a row is already a new personal best for me? Yes, yes it is. Also potentially sad is the content of this video wherein I profess my undying love for Ghostbusters and Egon Spengler. And I say “of course” about a hundred times too often so I added a counter for easy reference. Let the teasing commence! :)

And here is a slightly better copy of the picture I show in the video. I was trying to take a full scan but there was no way in heck I was cracking the spine of my beloved book.

Heh. Trading Cards rule, but Mass Marketing back in the 80′s was so ghetto.
The “kids will buy anything mentality” is the cause of 90′s cynicism.
I remember my soul dying a little when I finally got to see Robocop and
realizing that an 11-year-old shouldn’t be watching this.
    Great cache of memories though.

That Making Of book looks so awesome, I need to find that.

Great pace, duration and of course a bright smile :) — You’re so natural!

Of course you need to start manually setting your exposure before you begin. Unless of course you’re into having the picture bounce from dark to light. See ~4:45

Looking forward to Monday’s video. Of course.

Wow, 5.25″ floppy disks! I happen to be old enough to remember those quite vividly. I used to have tons and tons of these for my C64, including a Ghostbusters game!

The thing about the Wii version is… well it really feels like a dumbed down version of the 360 game. Some of the dialogue is different, some of the monsters are different, the levels aren’t anywhere near as long nor complex, but there isn’t much challenge to it as far as I can tell. And the controls are a bit too loose on the Wii remote, but too tight on the analog stick. It’s decent, but I pretty much think of the 360 game as it’s vastly superior brother. The Wii game feels like it’s drawing a parallel with the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, ie. a kids game.
