Last night was brutal. Felt like 40C and the fire alarm went off at 1:36am and 4am. This morning was not much better since I really dislike those ‘peel your face off your pillow and sheet off your body’ wake-up experiences. Does anyone, really? Thankfully the CBC weather called for rain and it’s finally here. It’s only been ten minutes and it feels ten degrees cooler already!
I might have to reconsider only having a fan in here since this heat is not great for my computer/consoles. A window AC unit or one of the ones with hoses that go through the window are completely out of the question so I will have to be creative to find a cheap and workable solution.

One or two damp towels hanging in front of the fan can do wonders. The fan should blow across the towels, not through them.
Based on experience, evaporative coolers don’t work in humid environments.
This flies in the face of the title “swamp cooler”, but if I understood everything I’d write a how-to book for life.
