Crackdown Content Fail

phooey.

Aw, phooey. I was all excited to sit and relax with Crackdown, some MP3s, and collect all the rest of the orbs in my crime-free city. I want the Orb Hunter and Free Runner achievements because, apparently, I am a glutton for punishment. Also, it’s really fun to leap tall buldings while carrying a car or firing a rocket launcher. As pictured above, however, this was not to be. I finally managed to book an internet ‘installation’* for next week so I’m hoping that maybe it’s because my hard drive is on a different Xbox (my lauch has been long dead, the elite died during school and I replaced it with an arcade ages ago in Windsor) and connecting to Live again to verify that my content is mine should clear things up. I also haven’t done the content transfer yet since the arcade is making awful grindy noises when I try to play with the system lying flat. I do not like that it does that. It makes me very nervous and you only get to do the transfer once every 12-months.

While it’s not horrible to have to restart from the beginning if this fails, I just loathe to go after all the orbs again so that I return to being my awesome agency tower jumping self. Did I mention I’m awesome. With the sequel finally announced I don’t want to hear any excuses from Real Time Worlds, uh, I mean Ruffian Games this time around for leaving out female agents. Let’s get it right, people ;)

update: IT LIVES. Once I got my 360 online, ran the system and game updates, everything became right as rain again. Unfortunately, this allowed me to remember how long it’s been since I last played Crackdown so it’s a good thing that there were no gangs around to kick my butt.

*Hmm, for $50 they will come to your home and give you the modem. For $60 they will come to your home, bring you the modem, and hook it up to your PC. Or, for free, you can pick it up from the store and plug it in yourself. No prizes for guessing which option I went with. If you picked either of the first two please note that we’ll no longer be friends.

Made you pick it up?
WEAK.
They sent mine UPS.

Finding that last Agility Orb (good luck with Orb Hunter though) was such a relief. I was growing so frustrated going block by block through the entire city looking for it. So fucking annoying. Have fun!!

BTW, Crackdown 2 is “ON NOTICE” for me for going stupid outbreak route. APB is where it’s at.

Hmmm, you will have to tell me more about why it’s stupid. My list of gaming-related things that tick me off is already pretty long but I am sure I can make room for one more with good cause.

Eggplant: Yeah, I picked it up since it was free but I had to call and whine to them today since the modem worked fine but there was zero signal over the cable line. I was impressed that they sent someone over two hours later who flipped a switch somewhere local and now I’m back in business!
