Who wants to help me pack?

Wooooooooooo, I’m moving! Next week! Which is basically tomorrow! Moving is fun when you are excited about where you are moving to. I am VERY excited. It’s less fun when you think of the paperwork and physical work that goes along with it. Booking internet is a major thorn in my side right now and I’m tempted to see how long I’d last without it before breaking in to some poor person’s wifi router. Place your bets.

I’ve also been spending a lot of time at my parents since I agreed to clean out their old storage room(s). Granted, this helps me as well since I can now stash more of my stuff over there, mwa ha ha. Earlier today I took four *carloads* of recyclables to the centre and one to goodwill. I will miss games like Fireball Island and Omega Virus but I knew I was never gonna sit and play them again. This involved taking many heavy boxes up two flights of stairs. I am presently ridiculously exhausted and I don’t even want to think about packing my crap now. I don’t want to even see another box just yet. While it took many 10am-7pm days working on it, going through every box to rescue all the errant photos, and fighting against the endless dust and the unmistakable must of boxes that haven’t been touched in a decade or more, I found some really cool stuff. I was posting them to twitter a bit yesterday and I thought I should share some of that here as well. Continue reading for photos of the goodies :)

  • In an perfect example of redundancy, I have boxes full of video game boxes going back to the NES days.
  • boxes boxes boxes

  • For those people that say I never talk about Apple stuff, here’s the old household DuoDock.
  • that colour isn't looking so great

  • Then there’s the ancient Mitac that I hope I found the right power cables for:
  • I remember gaming on this when my dad wasn't using it

  • Of course, I had to show off my Nerf Arsenal. FEAR ME. Nothing beats the dart and arrow firing of LadyGuardian’s Crossbow of Justice (+4!).
  • so many good times here.

  • And, just in case I ever have to prove that I am and have always been a geek:
  • This was taken at my Dad's desk in the mid 80s

Boxes of boxes rule because they are so light.
Packing helps to remember things forgotten.
Recycling and donation are great, but I could never give
up my copy of FIREBALL ISLAND. The idol would haunt my dreams.
    Good luck on the move.
