Happy Clock Day

by Jenn on Sunday, March 8, 2009

As usual it took my computer to remind me to set all the other clocks forward. Every year it goes something like this, “what the heck? Since when did it become 4am?!?!?” *facepalm* “I need to go set the clocks”. At least this year I actually remembered to go set my car clock forward too! Usually I completely forget about that and then freak out a week or two later when I wonder why I am really really early/late for something.

My site needs some serious tender loving care so I’m officially setting aside time for that this week since I have a few days completely free for a change. A new header image is probably forthcoming and I’m sure you won’t miss the sidebar ads either :)

Oh yeah the car clock, thanks for reminding me. In September 1990 I and about 20 friends in my church decided to take a camping trip in Algonquin Park. We were all young professionals, married couples and singles, anyway we decided to leave after work one Friday from Columbus Ohio, driving all night, canoeing and portaging the next day finally setting up our camps that evening. We ended up driving through downtown Toronto in the middle of the night and were surprised by all the friendly people having a good time. The camping trip was great while at the same time we realized we were a day from getting any help if something happened. We got to see the northern lights and I was surprised how quiet things could be late at night under a calm crystal clear sky when the moon has gone down, I could literally hear my heart beating under an amazing view of the Milky Way.
