MRIs are loud

by Jenn on Friday, February 13, 2009

The last time I had an MRI it was years ago for my spine and I was really not paying attention with other things on my mind. I had no idea it was capable of making that kind of racket! The nice lady on the microphone said, “This will take about 20 minutes, please don’t move or we have to do it again.” She failed to metion that even through the earphones they gave me it was gonna sound like someone put a metal garbage can on your head and beat it with hockey sticks and baseball bats. Not that I know what that sounds like, of course, but I think it’s a fair approximation. Anyway, just passing on that knowledge. I honestly have no idea how I managed not to flinch when it started. I’m kinda impressed with myself :)

edit: hey, cool. It’s Friday the 13th!

Hello Jenn….

Sorry you had to go through that, you’d think that with the technology nowadays they could figure out how to cut out that noise. I’ve never had one but was in the room with my Dad when he had one…..

Anyway, hope your okay…..game on….

Can’t say I know the feeling personally, but my sister had to go through a few.
Yeah it was reaaalll easy convincing a 6-year old to hold perfectly still.
Hope you’re able to get some answers.
I’m pulling for you.
