Whew. Here’s the short version:
- I had no internet for a while cause our school wifi is stupid, lame, and sporadic.
- my awesome parents decided that this was, indeed, stupid and got me REAL INTERNET! w00tage.
- my university faculty went on strike on Wednesday. They are still on strike.
- Predicatably, this has put a snag in our regular fall plans.
- all the bars in town are probably totally thrilled about all this.
- I have mixed feelings about Final Fantasy IV DS (presently at Troia). The voice acting makes me snicker.
- oh, and my team and I won a 10 hour adventure race. I managed to leave with the same number of limbs I started with, yay! Turns out I suck at mountain biking but I run well and I’m strong with a kayak paddle even in a canoe.
- I finally managed to find a copy of Dragon Quest IV DS! All the stores I usually go through were completely sold out but a Toronto Best Buy had a zillion copies. I will finish FFIV first but I’m really looking forward to this. I have fond fond memories of the original NES version and I was heartbroken when the PS1 remake never made it to North America. I have always loved that the hero could be female ^_^
Pics of the race to come as soon as I get them and after some more sleep I can’t wait to write out the whole adventure race craziness. Our team = a captain with an impressive race resume, one of my best friends who loves these things, and the rest of us were total rookies. I’m still a little surprised that we pulled off that victory!! Not too sure I want to go through another one anytime soon ;)

Great job on the race. My friends and I wanted to try a Hi-Tech race but they folded before we were able to pull it off. I guess there is always a 24hrs of Endurance type thing but that’s only mtb-ing and you need at least 4 to pull off a proper team.
Looking forward to the race recap.
I am unfamiliar with the Hi-Tech variety of races. This one was ok but I’m not sure I’m going to do another any time soon! The 24-hour+ ones are truly crazy just because of the cost involved. Even this race was a bank breaker and I was lucky our captain had lots of gear.
