Home Sweet Home ^_^

whew. I survived the move! Then I slept for a few hours. Now I’m writing this. Granted, I only had to carry everything I owned down 3 flights of stairs and across the streets but I definitely learned something. I haven’t unpacked yet since I have an exam in less than an hour but I did get my PC setup and nearly gave myself a heart attack in the process. I am always super nervous when I have to move computers. There are hundreds of little things that can go wrong outside of the big stuff like, oops, dropping the PC and then it gets run over by a 16-wheeler and then it rains and the parts get hit by lightning!!!

Fine, that doesn’t happen every day but it could.

Once I figured out how I wanted to move around the furniture in my new room (hint: I didn’t. I just pushed apart the desk and drawers a little bit to make room for my huge PC tower and makeshift stand on the floor. If I put it on the desk I wouldn’t be able to see out my window) it was time to hook up my trusty tank. I also took this opportunity to bust out the can of compressed air to take care of any dust bunnies and open up the case to check if anything came unseated during transit. Everything looked peachy keen and now it was clean so it was boot time! No boot. Hmm. Check everything again, make sure the switch at the back is in the right position and press again. We have life! Oh? What’s this? What do you mean I have no keyboard? The G15 is sitting on my desk, I can see it. On boot 3 I make it to my desktop. It can’t find my Habu mouse and pressing any key on my G15 resets the machine (this accounts for boots 4-6 before I figured that out). I stop and realize I am going in circles. Looking at the two USB slots I have at the back of the unit I realize that they are not in their usual positions. I switch them back to the spots they are ‘used to’ and lucky boot number 7 is a complete success. Weird. I should care more but I’m just glad it’s all back to normal and I can pump the tunes post-exam and get drunk.

I’m kidding. Drinking alone in an empty building is probably a bad sign. I’m gonna bust out the gatorade and maybe some Dr.Pepper and unpack!! It’s always exciting to me to arrange things in a new place. This is a much smaller room than I’ve had in the past so I will definitely need to be creative here. Stupid exam taking precious time away from my fun ;)

    Heh,
That seems to be the problem with this supposed high-end hardware.
My Lachesis won’t work unless it is in the port where it was first plugged.
Logitech G7 doesn’t care one way or another.
