Wednesday Night: arrive back in Toronto, promptly fall asleep around 4am
Thursday Morning: more sleep
Thursday Afternoon: Hung out with Darren and Shannon and showed them a little around Etobicoke including one of my favourite places to eat ever since I was a little kid, Il Paesano’s.
Thursday Night: Took them to the brand new Second City Toronto show, Barack to the Future. Good time was had by all.
Friday Morning: yup, sleepy time.
Friday Lunch: We got together with NDA and chatted about NDA and got a look around NDA so we NDA, NDA, and NDA‘d. It was loads of fun; wish you were there ;)
Friday Afternoon: Shannon had never been to the Eaton Centre on any of her previous trips to Toronto so, obviously, we had to correct that. D picked up some amazing slippers that I can’t wait for him to take photos of to share.
Friday Night: Got together with some friends and head out to the bar, as anyone on my twitter feed is probably well aware of. More good times ensued. Sadly had to part ways with D and Snubs since I had very important plans for Saturday.
Saturday Morning: no sleep. Too hyper. Having a red bull the night before for the first time in ages probably didn’t help much.
Saturday Afternoon/Evening: Tea Party time!!! I now agree with a friend that triangle sandwiches just taste better. One of my bestest friends from school last year is now heading overseas for a while so we had a lovely tea party to send her off. Strawberry Kiwi, Apple Cinnamon, and Pomegranate teas were had an enjoyed. Scones with strawberry butter and triangle egg salad and cucumber sandwiches were consumed. Not to mention cookies, summer pudding, and some coconut thing that I forgot to try. Oh, and another good friend brought his Mac and went about fixing up my iPhone for me now so it works with my iTunes and has the new firmware and set me up with a custom mashup ringtone (Ghostbusters theme and Mahna Mahna. Who doesn’t want Jim Henson on their phone?) AND showed me how to blank out my data settings with the new firmware so I don’t get dinged with ridiculous rates since I don’t have a data plan. We felt a little bad about separating from the group to play with our toys but we were forgiven :)
It was really a wonderful tea party and I managed not to cry at the end even though I’m going to miss her very, very much. But I taught her how to use Skype and got to give her laptop one more checkup before parting for the evening to make sure it will take care of her overseas.
Sunday Morning: Toronto a-sploded :(
Sunday: drove back to Windsor through very random weather. Alternating brutal storms and sun and sunshowers for the whole 3+ hours.
As you may notice, there was zero cleaning and organizing going on there. I suck at grandiose plans. But you knew that already. Now it’s back to school and classes end on Wednesday! This was definitely not the summer I hoped for but it was, nonetheless, important. And there’s still time to pull some cool stuff together before the fall. I’ve also decided that 8 months on the crappy campus wifi will drive me to violent acts so I’m gonna find a way to pay for cable internet again. Oh man, I can’t wait!!
