E3 2008

I am deadly awesome with Mirror and Bird. FEAR ME.Admittedly I’ve been trying to hide from the onslaught of E3 hype and all of the usual conferences but I don’t seem to be doing a good job of it. I don’t know whether I’m officially jaded now or what but, wow, it’s been boring so far. All the news that were obviously meant to be big announcements were leaked in some form much earlier so there’s no real surprise-factor, FFXIII on the 360 aside. No titles have really piqued my interest yet. There’s almost nothing that’s going to make me care about the 6 different flavours of Resistance or yet another Mario sports game. On the other hand, I was really looking forward to Mirror’s Edge until I heard the lousy voice acting and witnessed the hand-holding I was hoping would be avoided. It’s early yet. This is why I so rarely follow previews since my imagination runs away and envisions the game that I want which isn’t necessarily what the developers had in mind and then I end up disappointed. So silly, eh?

awwww, so cute. I want one :) I really must be getting old! The games I am most excited about are all remakes or ports of games I already played to death, like Rhapsody DS and Kirby Super Star Ultra and Dragon Warrior IV DS, or something that probably isn’t coming out any time soon like LittleBigPlanet (it was genius for Sony to have their charts done in LBP instead of lame old powerpoint slides. Easily the best part of the show for me). The Wii Remote addition, Wii MotionPlus, will be a huge boon to developers that I hope gets taken advantage of since it will finally be able to track the location of the remote better and more accurately in a 3D space. Granted, I’m not keen on buying 3-4 of them for each of my controllers but I know I will anyway cause I want to swing that sucker like a sword and have it work better than in Twilight Princess. Bring on the Lightsabers! :)

update: Also kick ass? The new Prince of Persia trailer.
