So much to do; so little time!
Since this is infinitely preferable to having all the time in the world and nothing to fill it with I’m making a vow today to stop whining about the multitude of (mostly) awesome that is my life :)
Today I proctor my first exam and I think I might be just as nervous about it as the students. I have to stop mentally calling them ‘kids’ since most of them are older than I am and one of these days I know I’ll slip and call them kids out loud. They probably wouldn’t appreciate that much. My TA hours after that should be pretty relaxed since I doubt any of them will want to come and ask questions directly following their midterm. This gives me a chance to do something that’s been bugging me since my last office hours. There was a guy in the lab playing Diablo II on his laptop. This, in and of itself is unremarkable in light of the announcement of Diablo III; however, he was playing on battle.net. I have to go through ridiculous measures to be able to IRC through the school internet service so I’m dying to know how he got an actual game working with, what appeared to be, minimal lag considering he was on skype at the same time! At least I know for sure that it can be done. Either way, I’m getting cable internet back in the fall because hitting internet and port-based roadblocks summer is driving me up the wall. It’s even interfering with some freelance work that will help pay for my fall semester if I ever get it done and that’s unacceptable.
Also, I had the opportunity to playtest Braid (more, in case you haven’t heard of it yet!) and I had to turn it down since I couldn’t authenticate with their servers from school. ARGH.

I have actually been playing some Warcraft 3 instead of Diablo 2. I never got to play Diablo 2 and a friend of mine said to avoid it since I am not missing much. Instead, he told me to try Warcraft 3. Love Warcraft 3 but I am still wanting to try out Diablo 2. Diablo 3 looks amazing so far. I just hope its a good game when it comes out.
