you asked

General Bison asked in the last entry how I am enjoying Rock Band. Frankly, I am not.

crap.

So pissed off. If anyone spoke to me in person the way that Ronald from Xbox Support spoke to me I’d be hard pressed not to beat them within an inch of their lives. I’ve tried just about every remedy I can find online (except the obvious stupid ones that I’m not sure I want to risk). I’ve tried every socket in my room as well as my VGA, component, and composite cables and nothing. I’ve been cursing more in IRC tonight than possibly the past 10 years of my life.

My system is out of warranty so I get to pay them $100 so I can be without my console for 3-5 weeks and the best they can give me is 1 month free of Live and a refurb (though at least that will also get a year of warranty with it)? Oh, gee, gosh… that almost covers the month I’ll lose seeing as I already paid for a whole year of Live again this past November. So I’m really pissed off. I just wanted to play tonight and have some fun and now I’m dealing with this crap. If anyone has some experience dealing with these guys on the phone I’D LOVE TO HEAR IT. I couldn’t get Ronald to stop calling me ‘sir’ so obviously I suck at this.

I feel for you Jenn. With the cost of games and accessories so high I also expect them to work most of the time. When I have to deal with support the only thing that seems to work is to continually ask to speak with the next higher up. Eventually they’ll probably just cut you off. I imagine Microsoft will soon take the Sony Online route and not give you any way to contact a person directly. Good Luck, here’s to hoping it all works out.

Hello Jenn, I also feel your pain…..I haven’t had the privalege of talking to tech support or customer support about my 360. But I have had dealing with other companies and it is a pain in the ass. I was trying to order a Dell widescreen monitor the other day and my Dell preferred account has expired. Between the circle I went in with the automated phone and the people I tried to talk to in India I was about ready to throttle somebody too. The one gal I talked to kept calling me Mr. Steve….
And it just isn’t with Dell either…..

And it sounds like Ronald is pretty much an idiot, not sure why he was calling you sir, You are definately not a sir:) And no you don’t suck at it……

Its just so hard to communicate with these people……I have alot of patience but not when it comes to dealing with customer service or tech support….

Hi Jenn . I have gone through this three times , finally I threatened to sue them , and they replaced my 360 toot- sweet . So you might want to try that. oxo ;)

Well, your not going to believe this, but now my 360 is down. Got the three red flashing lights last night, I tried it today and did boot up but eventually froze and now the lights are back again.

I called them and I guess this is covered under their 3 year warranty that they extended. It sounded like it will probaby be around a month turn around which is a bummer since Lost Oddysey is coming out soon.

I should add that this is the original version of the 360 which I bought in the original release date. I haven’t had any problems at all with it till now… Have played it pretty steady, mostly Obilivion and Eternal Sonata, and some arcade games….

I have a question, do you know what they are going to upgrade/replace on these original 360′s to fix them?

Thanks

Steve, sorry to hear that yours died too! Yeah, if I had more red rings then mine would also be covered under the warranty. I hope that they are also giving you a game and more Live time for your trouble due to time you will be without it. I honestly don’t know what the policy is on these replacements deals and what kind of system you’ll get back. Check the date when you get it to see that it’s more recent than the one you sent them ;)

Nooooooo!

My friend has exactly the same error, something to do with the video connection. Seems that only the US have good MS support. That really, really sucks.
