Our heater is busted. We think it’s been down a few days but it became really noticeable last night thanks to the blasts of cold air right where I sit at my desk. As I’m bundled up in warm flannel pants, a few shirts, a hoodie, a blanket and gloves at my keyboard it finally dawns on me that something is amiss. Ok, so it took my roommate dragging the RA into the room to prove that she wasn’t crazy and the heating was broken for me to get my first clue and then a friend came to visit me during a study break and she noted that it was positively frigid as well. So, yeah, it’s cold in here. All through the night I kept waking up whenever a body part ended up exposed to the air outside of my 4 blankets and that did not put me in a good mood for our 10k outdoor run this morning.
When my training partner called around 9:20am I was so very tempted to give her the old “go on without me!” speech but thought the better of it cause I know she can and most certainly would kick my ass for that. It was a beautiful sunny day and certainly warmer out there exercising than it is in my room presently. We did 10k in just over an hour but I feel bad since I know I was holding her back from her usual pace. Minus some annoying stiffness in my right knee I’m pretty happy to have made it through since I’m doing so much better than when I started running a month or so ago.
Today/tonight I have ambitious goals. I started working on my study charts last night and if I can finish them before 7pm or 9:40pm I will take off and see Enchanted on my own. It might be better this way. Solo I won’t have to hide my, hopefully, over-the-top joy. I’ve been looking forward to this movie for so long though that there’s probably no chance it can meet my expectations. I better get to work so I’ll have a chance to find out.
