fine, rub it in

My brother went home this weekend and decided to call me just to let me know that it’s snowing in Toronto. I want snow too :(

my brother wants me to stop talking about running

He regrets the day I signed up for that half-marathon since he hates marathon runners. Why? Cause they seem to only talk about running. I will admit that I am sorta falling into that stereotype right now. I was having a bit of a pissy afternoon and was exceptionally frustrated with myself and school. According to the training schedule for this race I was supposed to run 5k today. I didn’t really feel like it. I wanted to have dinner and play video games until dawn — can you believe my copy of Mario Galaxy is still wrapped? It’s killing me but I promised myself I wouldn’t play it until I’m done most of my exams — but I dragged myself to the gym and had a great time. I never EVER thought that running would make me happy but, quel surprise, it does :)

let’s just watch grass grow next time

There are few things as exciting, nay, thrilling as waiting 34 minutes for a simple printer driver to download over the school’s wifi connection. I’m still waiting and watching now in fear that once I finally get the whole thing it will be the wrong driver or got corrupted somehow. People might think that exams would be what makes students snap. They would be wrong. Dealing with uWindsor wifi when I’m not in my room with my glorious cable connection is what’s going to push me over the edge. This situation reminds me far too much of dial-up and not in the fun nostalgic way.

Leafs lose again, news at 11.

Friends are awesome. Especially when they let you crash in their bed while you not-so-patiently wait for your heater to be fixed. The last two nights I’ve been staying with friends in their dorm room upstairs since seeing your breath in the air while at your desk is generally not a good thing. They did actually fiddle with the heater today while I was in class, according to my roommate, so hopefully tomorrow it will be comfortable again and I won’t have to start paying my friends rent ;)

if nothing else…

I finally got on the scoresheet! Something ridiculous like 4 seconds in I feed it to my brother all alone in the slot and he buries it. It was a hard fought game right from the get-go but we lost 6-4 in the last minute and a half. Major bummer since the goalie stood on his head and we just didn’t hang on for him.
