Did you know that grape Powerade is actually blue? I didn’t. When I looked in the mirror and noticed that my tongue was not the colour I expected I went and poured the remainder into a glass to see what was up. Mmmm, blue.

I barely played any games at all this weekend. Instead of getting up and running to play Halo I went grocery shopping, did some readings, made notes, kept up with my gym schedule, enjoyed the weather, hung out with some friends and soon I’ll be off to get some food with my brother. After than I expect to read a few chapters for tomorrow’s classes and then conk out because I am completely exhausted. I even slept for a blissful 10 hours last night without a single peep from the people upstairs. Actually, they could have had the loudest party yet but I doubt that it would have changed how dead to the world I was.
Today was a beautiful summer day and so when Rob asked me when I wanted to get together for the campaign mode I kinda brushed him off. Thankfully he understood since it was too nice to spend inside. Another friend of mine was studying by the riverside and I wish I had thought of that because it’s a stellar idea and a scenic spot to get some reading done. It was only a few minutes ago that I realized I hadn’t turned on a console yet today. Even though this is the perfect time for me to goof off with no big projects due this week I ended up doing the responsible thing and hitting the books. I guess I don’t want to end up with another crunch like this. It was so much easier in the summer when I only had two classes to worry about ;)
Yes, there are no more midterms. How did I celebrate? I ended up going to the gym with a friend and then doing laundry before watching the Leafs choke in the third. Again. So there wasn’t a lot of gaming going on outside of a round of Albatross 18 with someone saving up for a new character. Now I am going to bed since I’m tired of staying up all night looking over course materials and I’d like to get my hours back on track. I swear that’s the reason and not because tomorrow a few of us here are going to try to marathon Halo 3 :)
That Intro to the Internet midterm was lame though. Maybe 8% actual code and then all obscure fill in the blanks.
_______ _________ is used by ____________ to ____.
Well, gee. Thanks for that, eh.
It sucks that it’s tomorrow at noon but there’s nothing I can really do about it. Seeing as it’s a fill in the blank test for Intro to the Internet I can’t say I’m overly stressed about it either. I lent my textbook to a friend who doesn’t have one there’s not a lot of studying I can do right now so I thought I’d give Halo 3 a shot. Mostly, however, it shoots me. While I possess the necessary FPS skills to get through Portal* unscathed I am still a bullet magnet when tasked with taking out the enemy. There’s a reason I play as Engineers and Medics in team-based games. It ’s nice to have a way to contribute that compensates for my less-than-stellar aim. Wiimote shooting? Point Blank series? Time Crisis? I am near godly. I’m competent with mouse look but this controller aiming thing is not going well :(
Since I keep trying to move my view with the wrong analog stick I think it’s time I try some different control schemes to see if that helps any. I don’t expect it to but I can hope! They even have some options for lefties that seem designed with me in mind.
*get this game. NOW. I don’t care if you go for PC or 360 but do it. And don’t read anything about it either! Spoilers are everywhere and I’m glad I got to enjoy it for myself.
But it’s back now. I’m glad it is unhurt. I missed it. Did you miss it too?
