suggestions are more than welcome

Milk is bad, m’kay. I am totally fine with chocolate milk on occasion, cheese in moderation, ice cream every now and then, and yogurt every day of the week but actual 2% milk causes me a whole lot of grief. I’m strangely ok with this since I only have regular milk once every three months for the past few years but I seem to have to relearn this lesson every time. Hopefully putting it in print will remind me to stay the hell away from it the same way I avoided cottage cheese until a month ago. This leads to my next question: who are you people, why do you like it, and how do you manage to enjoy it without desperately seeking something to drink that isn’t water so you can get the taste out of your mouth? I was told the other day that mixing cottage cheese with a fruit cup makes it all better but I either used too much cheese or not enough fruit to make it palatable. But I know it’s good for me so if you have any suggestions I look forward to hearing them! As for the milk thing I’m not all that concerned since my mom said she’ll get me some almond and soy and other alternatives when I visit next week so that I can give them a shot :)

Does it make you sick? or do you just not like the taste of it? So if you don’t drink milk then what do you put on your cereal? I’m a big fan of dairy, matter of fact had myself a big glass of 2% milk last night.

My bad. I was unclear. I did/do like plain milk to an extent and used to have it on my cereal all the time. It’s cottage cheese I am trying to learn to like and failing miserably.

I like cottage cheese, I’ll eat it plain right out of the container. I usually use it as a substitution for ricotta cheese when I make lasagna.

I havent had cottage cheese in a very long time I think it was the texture.

I think you can make brownies with cottage cheese.

Are you eating the cheese for calcium intake or something?

What you need is a can of pineapple chunks and a small container of cottage cheese, mix the two together so that there is a good amount of pineapple in there and chow down. Just make sure to add a little at a time and you should be good to go.

I really depends. Some people can’t stand the blandness of cottage cheese. I prefer the texture, just not all the time. Going with regular rather than large curds is a good way to start I think. My mom likes it with tomatoes. If I’m going to eat it I grind & then mix pepper into it. A little salt doesn’t hurt either.

    Just don’t eat it! Aaaaaaah!

…unless you’re into food masochism. Are you a food masochist?

    Fascinating.

I don’t blame you for not liking cottage cheese. If you let milk stay out for several days, it turns into something that looks likes it. The smell is awful and, pardon the pun, curdling. Have you ever barfed up milk after it has settled in your stomach for several hours? You got it!

Hope that reminds you in a traumatic way. What are friends for? :-)
