Happy Halloween!

Thanks to a whole bunch of scheduling miracles I was actually able to drive home today and arrived in time to shell out candy for my parents tonight. I don’t know about your particular areas but, man, it’s really a dying holiday around here. I think I saw 20 people and that’s including parents! There was an absolutely adorable baby Elmo though and that made the whole evening worthwhile for me. My dogs were super well behaved too and the kids seem to enjoy petting them more than getting the candy :)

Also, Steam sucks. Getting Portal initially wasn’t too painful but I’ve been trying to download it on my tablet for days now and the Steam servers are constantly too busy and their time estimates are way wrong. Don’t tell me it’ll be done in 5 minutes because I’ll be frustrated when I come back from watching a movie and there’s still 4 minutes to go. I went from 54% to 61% in two hours. Lame.

What do you mean you can’t find it?

I think I held it together pretty well over the weekend seeing as it looks like one of my midterms went missing. Yeah, seriously. When they posted the marks I noted that my student number was missing and had a minor panic attack. Then I remember how stressed I was when writing the psychology midterm in the first place and it was entirely possible that I wrote my student number wrong on the scantron sheet. I wrote my TA with my theory and asked if she could locate it for me. She replied that a whole block of tests didn’t get marked initially and I should just be patient and it will be done soon. Ok, I waited. They posted on our school’s internal system saying that it’s all marked now, for real this time. Still nothing for me. Eep. I wrote my TA back again and tomorrow I will pay her a visit during office hours and hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

Today’s been a rough Monday. Aside from my midterm still being AWOL I left the gym earlier than I wanted to today (you know how it is when you are in the groove) so I could shower, eat, and get my reading done before my last class. I drag myself to said class and, lo, it was canceled. I was actually looking forward to Intro to the Internet for once so I could see what I got on my first project and my midterm. It’s been frustrating.

In better news, here’s what I got from London yesterday. It makes me feel less stressed. If I wasn’t trying to save a little bit of face in front of my friends I probably never would have put him down yesterday. I also bought some socks and a shirt but those aren’t as cool as this.

Big Bird! And he talks!! ^_^

Ok, so that’s not the greatest picture since he looks like he’s being choked by his Build-A-Bear tag but I will work on that. He says four different things and I love him so ^_^

wooo! road trip

Heading to London tomorrow and I can’t wait! Feels like forever since I’ve been out of Windsor and I do love a good drive. It’s still great even when I’m not the one doing the driving :)

suggestions are more than welcome

Milk is bad, m’kay. I am totally fine with chocolate milk on occasion, cheese in moderation, ice cream every now and then, and yogurt every day of the week but actual 2% milk causes me a whole lot of grief. I’m strangely ok with this since I only have regular milk once every three months for the past few years but I seem to have to relearn this lesson every time. Hopefully putting it in print will remind me to stay the hell away from it the same way I avoided cottage cheese until a month ago. This leads to my next question: who are you people, why do you like it, and how do you manage to enjoy it without desperately seeking something to drink that isn’t water so you can get the taste out of your mouth? I was told the other day that mixing cottage cheese with a fruit cup makes it all better but I either used too much cheese or not enough fruit to make it palatable. But I know it’s good for me so if you have any suggestions I look forward to hearing them! As for the milk thing I’m not all that concerned since my mom said she’ll get me some almond and soy and other alternatives when I visit next week so that I can give them a shot :)

funny how that works

Between my classes today I did my workout at the gym, ran a little over 5k, then did a core conditioning class. You’d think I’d be completely exhausted considering I did cycle-fit/spinning last night but I’m feeling great. I can’t wait until our next hockey game on Thursday. I’m furiously trying to break in my new gloves before then (because my roommate needed another reason to think I’m totally insane) and I seriously need to remember to get my skates sharpened this time.
