Welcome to my Hell

zomgwtfbbq. Ever had someone stand at the front of the class and read HTML tags to you? For an hour and a half?? Lou was right. I’m going to lose brain matter by the end of these computer science courses. Granted, that might be a direct result of banging my head against the desk until goo pours out my ears but it’s all related. While the previous statements are a direct reference to my Introduction to the Internet course I feel the same way about Computer Concepts for End Users. On Tuesday we spent 3 hours going over the different parts of a PC.

You know when you are watching a PC-based presentation and they presenter is so bad with the mouse (and, it goes without saying, clueless about keyboard shortcuts like ctrl-S or alt-tab) that you want to take it away from them and do it yourself? I understand how that can be beneficial for people in the course who really have never seen a computer before but after the sixth or seventh time I think it’s up to them to have it written down or memorized. As I looked around the class I could tell that I’m definitely not the only one frustrated by a 30 minute explanation about the <pre> tag. I kinda sorta hope that there are some real idiots and slackers in the class otherwise I could get screwed when it comes to the bell curve. Getting B in this course will really piss me off.

I feel your pain, girlie! I remember my compsci classes were brutal! Desperately hoping that someone would rise above the heavy veil of redundancy and mediocrity. But instead, we all quietly played Duke Nukem with each other!
