My birthday this year was different from the norm and I rather enjoyed it. In fact, my second favourite singing moment of all time (so far) happened on July 31st so that was pretty cool. It’s definitely one of those ‘had to be there’ things but it was a perfect mix of music and geek and it makes me smile just thinking about it again.
I was randomly singing for some people in IRC and on IM through my webcam and The Internet is For Porn came up in my playlist. “What the hell,” I figured. “This can’t be any weirder than doing one part of The Actuary Song like I started off with.” So I started off with a very loose Kate Monster impression and barely managed to make it through the rest of the song because I was laughing so hard. I’m pretty immune to laughing at the lyrics of the song itself due to how many times I’ve listened to the Avenue Q album and every machinima creator and their cousin doing a version of it. I was laughing because said people in IRC and IM handled the other parts of the song with great aplomb though text. You can probably visualize how that went but just in case you can’t:
