So not only am I mostly unpacked but I took some new friends shopping (since it’s easier to carry groceries back to campus when you can stick them in the trunk) but I found the PS2 version of the Mega Man Collection for $4. I used to have the GameCube version with the jump and shoot buttons transposed. It was nigh unplayable to retrain those instincts we all hones as kids so I never played it. Now that I no longer shoot and fall off cliffs I was happy to jump right into Mega Man 2’s Wood Man stage to enjoy the best stage music ever. You know it’s true. The bad news is that I’m not as good as I was as a kid. It felt I was skating around the stage but still lots of fun. But mostly I’m happy to be settled in my new place. It’s probably the nicest room I’ve ever had on my own. High ceilings too boot! :)

*massive sigh of relief*
I still need to bring over my awesome office chair and then be nice and setup the linen for my brother but otherwise I’m in my new place and loving it. The room is glorious, the bathroom isn’t disgusting, and I made new friends already. Rock :)
My roommate will arrive on the 2nd and I’m looking forward to that, too. The only catch is that the internet hookup that I arranged (since the campus-wide wifi is only suitable for basic surfing) has been acting wonky but Cogeco will be back out first thing in the morning to fix it up proper. Now it’s time for the first night in the room I get to keep until the end of the winter semester. It’s lovely to finally be settled in one place for a little while!
Root canal. Blah. I’ve got to make a trip or two back to Toronto for a follow up but my dentist rocks and took care of me right away. Tomorrow I head back to Windsor. Wednesday I move (again) and get to spend a whole glorious day settling into my new fall and winter digs in residence. I even got lucky and arranged for the internet to be hooked up that same day so hopefully I’ll be able to post that evening. Sweet.
That’s really the best way to describe the last few days. I’m presently back in Toronto since I need to see a dentist. During my study period/exams I ignored a minor pain in my tooth and the other day I discovered that was a lousy idea. Unfortunately my dentist takes Friday’s off so I wound up going to an emergency centre downtown. They were very nice and I certainly appreciate the T3s but I cannot wait until tomorrow morning and hopefully my dentist — who is actually really great. Not only is he a super nice guy but he’s exceptionally skilled and I don’t have a single complaint about him or his staff. Ok, except that they are closed this weekend. — will fix me right up so I can get back to Windsor and finally move in to residence.
While spending the weekend rather enamoured with any kind of texture (even eating icecream, Baskin Robbins double in a cup of chocolate chip. Without cookie dough, thanks) thanks to the codeine my parents took me out shopping for a belated birthday gift. They know I’m a huge fan of the old Get Smart series and tried to get me the whole collection. Regrettably, TimeLife can’t find their ass with both hands. My Dad first ordered the series behind my back on July 14th in the hopes that it would arrive by the 31st. It did not. He’s called back every week since he ordered and they keep telling him that they have no record of his previous order. I’m inclined to believe them since his credit card hasn’t been charged either. Finally this week we gave up on them ever getting their act together and they bought me a small HDTV instead :)
It’s perfect for me! It’s not too big and not too small and I can hook up all my systems at once. Since all my regularly played systems were back in systems I got to test it out with my PS3. Hot diggity, the PS3 looks so much better in HD. I think I will even take it back to Windsor with me this time. I still don’t have any games for it but the demos have been another nice distraction. I mostly played Super Rub a Dub and as much as I wanted to love it since the idea is so cute the game itself is ordinary. The entire time I was thinking “I wish they made this for the Wii instead. It’d be just as fun as Kororinpa!” While horsing around with that I downloaded Heavenly Sword and anything else I could think of to entertain me later tonight. Even with the Tylenol 3s I have to be careful not to lie on my right side or I wake up in a start. Never thought I’d look forward to seeing the dentist so much even though he is a nice guy :)
Yes, this sucks. Due to circumstances beyond my control I will be without internet until Sept 2nd at the earliest :(
Basically I have to move all my stuff into storage in the basement on zero notice while res services gets back to me on my petition to move in early so I can have a real living space again real soon. This is not how I wanted to spend my last weekend before my Calculus exam. Anyway, catch you on the flip side and I will probably visit the computer lab at school a few time to check in and whine a little more about the unfairness of it all ;)
