I head out in the morning and come home to a big-ass disconnect notice from Cogeco. Hmm. I call their billing department first to make sure that my deposits reached their destination. “You’re all up to date, ma’am.” *cringe* I hate that term. Anyway, I explain why I called to check and she tells me that a previous tenant owes a few hundred dollars so the house was cut off while I was out. Lovely. They promised to send someone out to patch me up again later that day but it miraculously came back on its own a few hours later. Makes me wish I had brought my math texts with me when I left the house this morning since now it’s too late to pay a visit to math department for a hand. Grr. Whether I know it or not the test is still on Friday. Then the exam is August 20th. The prof actually suggested that we redo every single homework question on top of the assigned review. When does he think we’ll have the time?? We all kind of looked at him for a moment to see if he was kidding. No such luck.
At least I have the internet back again. I don’t have a doorbell so I was basically hovering near the front windows to wait for a van to show up and that wasn’t the most productive time I’ve ever spent. It was kind of sad, really. Every time a vehicle went by I’d eagerly look up to see if it would stop in front of my address.

Besides the cutoff, how do you find Cogeco for access?
I am getting hooked up on Monday with their 10mbit plan, so I am looking forward to it. It couldn’t be any worst than my up and down dsl. I must be just far enough away in the building from the demarc to not get a reliable connection.
Good luck on the math degree too, it’ll be tough no doubt, but it will be nice to have the paper. Math was my worst subject by far at University, which isn’t good for a comp sci student where the comp sci degree was ran by the math department. Had to redo first year discrete mathematics and barely squeaked by second year.
